FEATURED ARTIST PROGRAM

Each month, Sevigny Studio & Gallery highlights a guest artist in a dedicated First Friday opening and a month-long exhibition.

Our Featured Artist Program celebrates the vibrant creative community that surrounds us. We showcase a rotating selection of mediums – painting, illustration, photography, ceramics, mixed media, and beyond.

Our monthly First Friday opening draws collectors, neighbors, and art lovers for an evening of connection and creativity. The featured artist’s work remains on display throughout the month, with opportunities for additional engagement, cross-promotion, and community outreach.

This program is built as a collaborative partnership – where artists and the gallery support one another’s audiences, celebrate diverse creative voices, and contribute to the cultural pulse of our neighborhood.

If you’re interested in being considered as a future Featured Artist, we invite you to explore the gallery, get to know our team, and complete the application form below.

Meet Katie & Mackenzie

The Featured Artist Program curated by Katie Sevigny, gallery owner and artist, along with Mackenzie Bakewell, multimedia artist and author.

Katie Sevigny is a professional artist with longstanding roots in the creative community. She studied at the Chicago Art Institute and The Academy of Art in Chicago before spending many years living and working in Alaska. After her husband, Craig, became a pilot with Alaska Airlines, their family relocated to Portland, where Katie’s extended family has lived for more than 30 years.

Now based in SE Portland with their three sons, Katie continues her painting practice while overseeing the vision, curation, and day-to-day operations of Sevigny Studio PDX.

Mackenzie Bakewell is a multimedia artist and author with a background in creative storytelling and community-focused art. She is the founder of ZieBee Media, an independent publishing company where she produces her Journey of Colors coloring book series and other works centered on creativity and wellbeing.

A Portland-based artist, Mackenzie balances her studio practice, writing, and publishing work with her role at Sevigny Studio PDX, where she supports curation, artist outreach, and gallery programming.

About Sevigny Studio PDX: We are a neighborhood gallery dedicated to bringing a thoughtfully curated collection of art and handmade goods to SE Division. As local residents and small business owners, we take pride in fostering a creative space that connects artists with the community.

Come by to celebrate Portland’s vibrant art scene with us!
