September First Friday Anniversary Celebration

This September, we’re celebrating a special milestone: five years of Sevigny Studio PDX!
Join us during the September First Friday Art Opening for an evening celebrating art, music, creativity, and all the people who have helped make the gallery what it is today.
For the occasion, we’ll be refreshing the gallery with displays selected from Katie Sevigny’s immense collection of original artwork. The evening will offer a chance to rediscover favorite pieces, experience artwork that has not recently been displayed, and perhaps find something new to bring home. Original artwork throughout the gallery will be available for purchase.
We’ll also have live music from DJ Ayatollah, a Queens-born hip-hop producer known for his work with artists including Mos Def. After happening upon the gallery during a visit, Ayatollah became a regular part of our First Friday events over the past year. His distinctive sets bring incredible energy to the space, creating an atmosphere where music and visual art enhance one another.
Light refreshments will be available as we gather to celebrate five years of creativity and community.

Before opening Sevigny Studio PDX, Katie spent 20 years building an art gallery community in Anchorage, Alaska. During the past five years in Portland, the gallery has continued that commitment by creating a welcoming place to experience original art, support local artists and makers, and connect through creativity.

We are currently looking for artists to fill our 2027 Featured Artist calendar.
Artists interested in exhibiting at Sevigny Studio PDX are encouraged to learn more about the program through our website and attend the anniversary celebration. Bring a business card, introduce yourself to the gallery staff, and take the opportunity to meet Katie and share a little about your work.
Whether you’re an artist, an established collector, a curious neighbor, or someone who simply believes life is better with art in it, we would love to celebrate with you.
